Built in 1911 by Louis Neeb for Julius Karbach, a prominent cotton trader and businessman in Lockhart. The social Karbachs gave many parties in this house until they sold the home to Martin Owens Flowers in 1924. Mr. Flowers served as City Attorney and was elected judge in 1929. He was appointed Secretary of State in 1939 and served one term. In 1938 or 1939, there was a dinner party in the house for a number of state officials, including Gov. and Mrs. W. Lee O'Daniel. Judge Flowers died in 1944 following a fall over the balustrade of the stairway to the lower floor. Mrs. Flowers lived in the home until her death in 1966.
