Originally situated on Market Street, the four room house was built in 1888 and moved to its present location between 1900 and 1910.  The home has undergone several additions.  Built by Mrs. Sam Henry Whitaker, the home was later inherited by Mrs. W. H. Tabor.  Sam Tabor, former mayor of Lockhart, also lived in this house.
