Built in 1910 for Clyde and Edna Bowen Beaty, this Greek Revival home was designed and constructed by Thomas S. Hodges, a noted architect who had designed the Dr. Eugene Clark library and the First Christian Church of Lockhart.  A beautiful spiral staircase found in the spacious living room is carved from one continuous piece of wood.  The home was remodeled in 1928-1929 when the oil boom came to Lockhart.  The interior was decorated in a Spanish motif at a cost of $24,000.   The three original gables were removed and one large gable was installed.  The porch columns were turned and screening added to the large back porch.
