The owner states that she took this spectacular photo from a construction crane, at night, by herself!  The image is understandably out of focus!

John T. Storey was the son of Leonidas J. Storey, Lt. Governor of Texas and the grandson of John Storey, the first County Judge of Caldwell County.  John T. Storey was president of the Lockhart National Bank for 35 years.  During the Great Depression he used his personal funds to keep the back operating.  Eventually the bank merged with the First National Bank of Lockhart.  Mrs. Julia Nix Storey was the daughter of Capt. Jonathan Nix.  Capt. Nix was a Texas Ranger, an officer in the Confederate Army and established the first streetcar lines in Lockhart.  This Greek Revival mansion has the original stained glass entry and windows and stamped metal roof.   The A. A. Storey home (John's brother) is located across the street at 515 S. Main.
